Regular readers will notice that I have added another tag – medieval. Although many of the posts relate to other things, notably our key theme of boundaries, some of the links on the blog roll and the content of some posts are undoubtedly medieval, and the new tag should make them easier to find. For any passing medievalist, the blogs listed here contain links to may more wonderful and interesting sites.

This year’s IMC was the biggest yet apparently, with over 1500 active participants and 29 parallel sessions at any one time. For those of you who read last year’s report, I managed to avoid the worst of the breakfast queues. But what of the quality of the conference? (more…)

International Medieval Congress (IMC) 2007 July 2, 2007

Next week, over 1,300 medievalists will descend on Leeds for the International Medieval Congress. Like last year, I shall be attending and presenting. Like last year, I am hideously underprepared. This year’s special theme is ‘Medieval Cities’, something which fits well with my new project on outdoor space. Hopefully, our sessions on Rouen will go well. I’ll write about the highlights when I return.
