So, what now that Blair has gone? Will we have a era of prudent managment of the country and its resources as the former chancellor takes over? Or, will we decline in a genteel way into whatever mess a future Tory government will bring?

Recently there have been some complaints about the state of school physics teaching, as illustrated by the new physics GCSE. But with coursework being severely curtailed, the question is what sort of science should be being taught in schools? Should we return to rote learning?
